7 Hidden Ways God Is Working In Your Life

I’ve seen God move in incredible ways just as you probably have over the years. However, these incredible God stories are few and far between. Are these really the only times when God’s moved? Or has he moved in other ways and we just forget or don’t see it? In this blog, I want to help you see all the incredible ways God is working in your life.

My Recent God Story

As you might’ve seen on my Facebook or Instagram, my wife and I have been in a struggle to buy this townhouse. We were all set to go when just a week before closing, we found out we had to put 20% down rather than 5%. In Colorado, that 15% difference is huge. We had to come up with $28,000.

So we prayed and fasted. In our spirits we knew God wanted us to buy this place, so we expected he’d do something incredible. We tried not to share the specific amount because we were hoping someone would donate the exact amount to us. Either that or else we’d find a new lender that would somehow be able to do the impossible and let us put just 5% down.

None of this happened. Yes, God did move, but not as we were hoping.

I asked my grandparents if they could loan us the money and they readily agreed. So, because of this, we can now buy this house.

It’s not flashy, it’s not super exciting, but God moved. What seemed like a closed door, God opened through my grandparents. That’s huge! But, it’s not flashy.

This wasn’t a story that I’d be running around telling my non-Christian friends about to prove that God exists.

This got me thinking. If I’m tempted to think that God didn’t move in an amazing way simply because it wasn’t a straight-on miracle then perhaps I’ve missed tons of other incredible ways that God’s moved.

How God Moved

There are more incredible ways God moved in this situation beyond just opening the door.

First, even having the opportunity to buy the townhouse was a miracle. We really wanted to buy a house rather than rent. However, as we moved in and rented this townhouse, we realized the incredible gospel sharing opportunities available here. So, we gave up buying a place and committed to being a light here.

After we came to this conclusion, we prayed and asked God to open up the door to buy this townhouse from our landlord. A week later, our landlord came up unprompted and asked us if we’d like to buy the property from him.

Incredible, right?

Second, when our loan option fell apart and the more our house slipped away, the more God seemed to confirm in our hearts that he wanted us to buy this property. It didn’t make sense. So we prayed and fasted and searched for new options.

At one point, I watched my wife cry as she pet our new dog. Our landlord didn’t allow pets, but because we were about to buy it, he gave us permission to adopt our friend’s dog. So, if we lost the house, we’d also have to give away this little doggy we quickly grew so fond of.

Watching my wife cry caused something within me to click: this couldn’t be the end of the story. I knew right then that God would do something so we could buy this house.

Because God transformed our hearts and made it so clear to us, we accepted an offer we originally would’ve rejected.

God did do a miracle whether I feel blown away or not. So how many other ways has God worked wonders in your life or mine that we’ve never noticed?

The Hidden Miracles

God’s done amazing things in your life, and he continues to do incredible things every day. Here are some potential ways God’s worked in your life that we should praise God for:

  1. Every time someone encouraged or comforted you when you felt defeated. For this to happen, God has to lead and inspire someone with the right words to help you stand back up.
  2. Each time someone gave you a gift or money that you needed. This is God transforming another person’s heart on your behalf to help them deny the nearly irresistible urge to be selfish.
  3. Every day you wake up strong enough and able to complete the day’s duties. Check out all the millions of health conditions out there. If you can stand, then God is working on a microscopic level to keep you functioning.
  4. Every good and encouraging friend you have. How’d you meet your friends? This is God either lining up your life so you can bump into them, or directing a mutual friend to introduce you.
  5. Every near-death experience you’ve survived. In these situations, God either alerts you just in time to the danger or he orchestrates nature or the lives of others so the catastrophe just barely passes you by.
  6. Every job you have. Not only did God work in the management to pick you above all the other applicants, but he also led you to the job at the right time. Additionally, he continually leads customers to use your business so they can employ you.
  7. Every bad/hard thing you’ve endured. This is God pulling away one thing or another to help you refocus on him and find your ultimate foundation and joy in him. He also uses these situations to build your faith.

Isn’t God amazing?

God Is Working In Your Life, Always

Whether you recognize it or not, God is always working behind the scenes. I’m sure there are tons of other ways that God performs miraculous things on our behalf. So, the next time it seems like God is far away, or the next time you are struggling in your faith. Remind yourself of all these things God is doing and your whole life will feel like a living miracle — as indeed it is.

This is one beautiful way to live wilder.

  1. Hallelujah! I am SO happy you ended up being able to purchase the house you both wanted! That’s an answer to prayer, and God moved and made a way where there seemed to be no way. He works in ways we cannot see, HE will make a way for you. In fact, HE did! Credit to that bit is Don Moen, in his song “God WIll Make A Way”, an anthem song of mine ever since I was a child. I’m actually writing a novel based on that song!
Agh! I am so happy for you both! This post was wonderful. And so true. Bless you and your sweet wife. I will try my best to comment more! Love you both in Christ! 🙂 <3

    1. You are absolutely right! God works in incredible ways. We definitely don’t deserve this and we hope to use opportunity to be a blessing to others. Thank you so much for your comment and your enthusiasm. Your comments always make my day 🙂
